Ragnarök Event

Event Overview

Ragnarök is a major periodic event in Total Battle featuring two legendary epic monsters: Jörmungandr (The World Serpent) and Fenrir (The Great Wolf). Players deal damage to these epics to earn points and exclusive coins, which can be exchanged for highly valuable rewards. Notably, Ragnarök coins never expire and roll over to future events, allowing you to save up for major purchases.

Jörmungandr (Raid Epic)A Clan Raid monster requiring coordination with clan mates. Attacks yield Jörmungandr Coins.
Fenrir (Solo Epic)A Solo march monster. Attacks yield Fenrir Coins and provide great Valor Points (VP).

Tips & Strategy

The following tips and strategies were written by Pickle Alrick.

General Strategy

Ragnarök is one of the biggest high-payoff events in Total Battle. If you are going to spend money in the game, aside from the various passes (Gold, Elite, Season events), Ragnarök is where you should spend it. The VP, XP, Keys, Tar, etc., are considerable. Grab a few tiers of the Ragnarök-specific Mercenary packs, and make sure not a single one of them survives to complete their contract.

Reward Tiers & The "Ragnarök Trick"The reward tier point requirements are set by your level at the start of Ragnarök. If you start at G6, it takes a specific number of points to get the coin rewards throughout that whole event. You can lock in easier milestones before upgrading troops during the event.
Talent ResetsRagnarök is a great time to do a talent reset. Dump ALL your points into Battle Tactics and Expert Battle Tactics. Drop a single point in every talent needed to reach the end of the tree, then work your way backwards, maxing out the most important talents first (Strength, Health, Training Speed). The higher-level talents give much bigger boosts for the same cost. (Fun fact: this "race to the end and work your way back" strategy is how you should always approach talent point allocation).
Expert Battle TacticsThese talents apply to all unit types (Guardsmen, Specialists, Monsters, Mercs) based on whether they are ranged, melee, mounted, or flyers. Start with these if you can, as they provide incredibly powerful boosts.

Jörmungandr (The Worm / Dragon)

Start off with Jörmungandr. You’ll find many more raids to join the first day, especially right after the event starts, so jump on those. Jörmungandr attacks don’t award VP directly, but you can get great VP rewards in the shop.

Raid Etiquette (CRITICAL)
  • NO CATAPULTS. SERIOUSLY, NEVER.
  • Do not use Ragnarök to level captains. The goal is points, and points require damage.
  • Send battle captains only (Cleopatra, Skadi, Aydae, Heimdall, Hercules, Beowulf, Amanitore).
  • Ensure boosts are set before the raid: VP/XP, Army Strength, Great Marshal (if Premium).
  • Full raids (5/5) offer massive return on investment. Set your raid timer to 5 minutes to ensure it fills.
  • Raid leaders: Check troop composition. Kick members with non-battle captains or bad troops. If the raid isn't full, cancel and run it again.
Shop PrioritiesAim to clear out at least the first 5 on this list:
  1. Fenrir 300% strength boost
  2. Clan Chests (All 5)
  3. VP Packs (All 3)
  4. XP Packs (16 available – especially valuable in Season's Legacy)
  5. Clan Books (1/1)
  6. Legendary Captain Selection Chest
  7. Scrolls of Triumph (1/1)
  8. Dragon Orbs (1/1)
  9. Artifact Keys (5/5)

Fenrir (The Wolf / Dog)

After getting what you need from the Jörmungandr shop, switch to spamming hits on Fenrir to exhaust your remaining resources. He has 4 stacks like a regular epic. Keep hitting him! These individual marches award great VP.

Shop PrioritiesOnce you have Fenrir coins, spend them in this order:
  1. Epic Tar (8/8)
  2. High level Rare Crypt Keys (20/20)
  3. Lower level Rare Crypt Keys (25/25)
  4. Process Speedups (20/20) – yes, you can eventually run out and it sucks
  5. Dragon Coins (4/4)
  6. Scrolls of Triumph (1/1)
  7. Smaller VP packs (190/190)
Afterwards, go for other tar and RSS if you feel you can afford it.

Ragnarök Epic Armor

Equipment TabThe equipment tab is for building Ragnarök Epic Armor. That is a whole new guide—some people swear by it, others don’t care. If you are going to pursue the armor, be prepared to go through a few Ragnarök events before building a high enough level set to make it worth it.
